Mumbai, 27 May 2010: 22nd May was indeed another remarkable day in the history of St. Joseph Church, Mira Road. Br. Ajay Nazareth made his Solemn Profession before the Lord in the presence of the whole congregation by pronouncing the three Evangelical vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience. Along with him there were 7 lay people who volunteered to enter Postulancy and 3 others committed themselves in the Secular
Order through their perpetual promises.
Fr. Archibald Gonsalves, OCD, Provincial of Karnataka-Goa-Maharashtra-Gujarat Province presided over the Eucharistic celebration and during his sermon he congratulated all of them for taking this bold step, he invited each of them to be faithful to their commitment. More than 10 priests were present for the solemn Eucharist. After the sermon Br. Ajay pronounced his solemn vows in the hands of Fr. Provincial - Fr. Archie. Later Fr. Provincial vested the new Secular members with the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Before concluding the Eucharistic celebration the Parish Priest Fr. Dominic Vas thanked everyone and wished them all the best.
