ISC & Indian Embassy Abu Dhabi Celebrate Independence

Abu Dhabi, 16 August 2012:  The independence day was celebrated at India Social and Cultural Centre Abu Dhabi at 7;15am and at Indian Embassy at 8:00am.

 

At ISC Abu Dhabi the flag hoisting ceremony was conducted sharp at 7:15am by Hon President (Acting) Jacob P.S.  Many well known personalities attended the flag hoisting ceremony namely Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shetty (CCO Global - UAE Exchange), Mr. Sarvotham Shetty (President, Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi), Mr. Jairam Rai (Group Finance Manager - Bin Fardan), Mr. Murli (SFC Group) and many other dignitaries and ISC officials and guests.  It was a brief ceremony and all the dignitaries then left for Indian Embassy for flag hoisting ceremony.

 

 

At the Indian Embassy the flag hoisting ceremony was held sharp at 8:00am by Ambassador HE M.P. Lokesh and there after a short cultural program was held at the embassy auditorium.

 

The ambassador read the Indian President Mr. Pranab Mukarji’s address to the nation on the eve of India’s 66th Independence Day.  Followed by patriotic songs were rendered melodiously by children of embassy staff .  St. Joseph’s School and Abu Dhabi IndiaN School children entertained the crowd with beautiful patriotic songs and dances.

 

On the occasion Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty (MD NMC group), Mr. Jashonmal (Enterpreneur), Mr. V.K. Mathoo (Advisor - Abu Dhabi Indian School) and many other dignitaries were present.  The cultural programme ended at about 9:30am.
