Independence Day celebration in the Holy Cross Church Pamboor

Pamboor, 15 Aug 2012: The flag hoisting ceremony at Holy Cross Church, Pamboor  was held today at 8:45 am after the mass. The programme was organized by ICYMt. Mr.Loyal D’souza, secretary of ICYM compeered the programme, Rev.Fr.Charles Lewis was the president of the programme and hoisted the national flag.

 

Mr.Denzil Menezes the president of ICYM welcomed the gathering. Vice president of the parish council Mr.Fedrick Menezes and the ICYM advisor Mr.Anil were present.

 

 

Miss Steffi Menezes spoke a few words on the importance of Independence Day. She said though we celebrate Independence Day do we really understand what Independence is? She also spoke about the political status of our country.

 

Rev.Fr.Charles Lewis  in his speech told that we people  instead of counting what the country has done for our betterment we should think what we have done to our country and we have to obey the fundamental rights of our country. The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks by Miss Linet D’Souza.
