Mangalore: JD (S) supporters defy Section 144 to protest against the resort attack

Mangalore, 01 August 2012: Defying the Section 144, the JD (S) supporters assembled in large number in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 to protest against the attack on the resort and manhandling girls and boys celebrating birthday of one of their friends on Saturday, July 28, 2012.

 

 

As the protest was considered to be illegal as the JD (S) supporters had defied Section 144 against unlawful assembly, the police arrested the protesters and took them to Pandeshwar Police station. As the protesters were taken police van, they shouted slogans against the BJP government and lawlessness in the state in general and in Mangalore in particular.
