Mangalore, 27 July 2012: Ronald Pinto’s enchanting painting exhibition under the theme “Pearl and the Sea” was inaugurated at the Orchid Art Gallery, Mangalore on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 5 pm by Ashu Bedra, producer of Kannada Tele-serial-Radha Kalyana. The exhibition will be open from July 27 to August 4, 2012.
“Pearl and Sea” is Ronald Pinto’s second solo exhibition. His first exhibition centered on the life in the desert. His first exhibition “Me sunrise and desert” successfully brought out the serenity of the desert tlife, despite the challenging conditions. In his quest for further artistic enquiry, Ronald Pinto selected the majestic ocean and the enormous energy hidden in its depths as the theme for the current series.
The formation of a pearl at the drop of rain in the shell and it’s amazing process seemed to have gripped the mind of the artist who successfully put into the canvas. He is awestruck and plunged literally deep into the sea with creative energy, a fact clearly evident in his works. The serene blue of the ocean found in his paintings, depicts the calmness besides opening up the vivid hues of ocean deep under. The wonder and mystery of the ocean gets unraveled through his work and takes the viewer to another plain of colourful ocean life and marine diversity and float in the mystery of God’s creation. The artist has used textures to successfully denote the roaring of the sea, the rhythmic flow of ocean waves and tkes the viewer to meditative state.
Ronald Pinto hails from Puttur in South Kanara District. He graduated from well-known art institute-Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Art-Mysore (CAVA). He worked as an artist in Bahrain and the current series of works are on diversity of sea scapes and continuation of his earlier series on desert life. His probing mind has ventured beyond the extraordinary and has ably depicted the sea and its mystery.
