Kundapura, 25 July 2012: “ In Karnataka we must pass one style and equal education policy “, an appeal was made to Kundapura Thashildar Lalanki by Kundapura Kannada Sahitya Parishat. During the presentation of appeal, Kundapura Sahitya President Narayana Kharvi, Udupi Jilla Sahitya Parishat former President A.S.S. Hebbar, Gen. Secretary K.G. Vaidya, U. Sadesh Bhat, and members Ragavendra Pai, Jayashekara Madapadi, Sadananda Kharvi, Venkata Narayana Holla, Ragavendra Charana Navada, Suresha Kharvi and also special invitee Bernard D’Costa were present.
In the recent years, Karnataka government, on the pretext of no students for Kannada Medium, has shut down many Kannada Medium schools. Not only that for the 2012-13 school year staring English medium in 340 Senior Primary Schools from class 2nd itself has done a damage to the progress of Kannada, opined kannada Sahitya Parishat, Literary figures, Intelligent, kannada associations and kannada supporters.
Therefore, it is important that English should be taught from class one itself and it should be taught effectively and there is no need it should be taught only in English medium schools. Also the permission for the additional 340 English medium schools to be cancelled immediately,they petitioned.
All the children of the state should be provided English knowledge from the beginning itself and at the same time Kannada also should survive, a 12 point appeal was submitted to the Thasildar.
The Thasildar received the appeal respectively. On the occasion Kundapura Circle Inspector Madan Ganvkar was present.
