Mangalore, 08 July 2012: The Congress leaders and workers organized a ‘Jana Jagruti Sabha’ against ‘the anti-people administration of the BJP government in the state’ on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Townhall at 11 am. Addressing the gathering, Siddharamiah , the leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Assembly said that the Congress leaders and workers should face the election and defeat the ‘anti-people’ government of the BJP.
Speaking further, Siddharamiah said that the ministers are busy in safeguarding and promoting their own interests rather than solving the pressing problems of the people. There is an acute problem of draught and famine in many parts of the state and in spite of the funds released from the Central Government, the BJP government of the state is yet to respond to the pressing problems that has been affecting thousands of people.
Senior Congress leader, Janardhana Poojary speaking at this occasion said that all the party workers should unite and see to it that the BJP government is defeated in the next elections.
A large number of Congress workers attended the ‘Jana Jagruti Sabha’ and responded favourably to the spirited speeches of the Congress leaders.
