Moodubelle, 01 Jul 2012: The Shirva Police have claimed on June 29, 2012 that they have solved the mystery behind the death of Srinivas Nayak from Katingeri-Moodubelle whose body was found floating in the Belle River on April 6, 2012.

According to reports, Srinivas Nayak who had gone to Belle Pethe on April 4, 2012 went missing and his floating body was discovered in the Belle River on April 6. His wife, Lakshmi Nayak who had suspected foul play behind the death of her husband had informed the Shirva police station accordingly.
On receiving the complaint of Lakshmi Nayak, the officer in charge, K. R. Nayak and his team of police personnel tried to solve the mystery behind the death of Srinivas Nayak from many angles and after thorough inquiry and interrogating three persons who were with Srinivas Nayak , they have finally claim to have solved the mystery.
According to the pieces of information put together by the Police, on April 4, 2012, Srinivas Nayak along with Edward, the clerk from the local school and Radhakrishnan had gone to the Belle River to catch fish. They were provided net by a person living close to the river named Gregory.
Entering the water of the river, Srinivas Nayak who held one end of the net and went into deeper water drowned in the middle of the river. Realizing that their colleague Srinivas had drowned, both Edward and Radhakrishna Nayak got panicky and returned with the net. As they were scarred about the incident, both Edward and Radhakrishna Nayak kept the entire incident a secret. The body of Srinivas Nayak was eventually discovered after two days of the incident on April 6, 2012.
