Mumbai, 29 May2012: The whole Province as well as Anubhav and St. Joseph Parish community rejoiced on the occasion of the Solemn Profession of four of their Brothers, Brs. Nitesh Rodrigues, Kaushik Parmar, Daniel Christian, Cannio Cardozo. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Bishop Agnelo Gracious together with the Karnataka Goa Provincial Fr. Archiebald Gonsalves at 5p.m. More than 15 priests concelebrated in the Eucharist.
Bishop in his homily explained the meaning of profession as well as well as deeper meaning of three Evangelical vows. It was a much-awaited day in the life of these 4 young brothers as they made their perpetual commitment in the hands of their Provincial Fr Archiebald Gonsalves after several years of spiritual preparation through Carmelite formation. The young brothers promised the Lord to live in Poverty, Chastity and Obedience to the end of their life serving God and his flock in the Carmelite Fraternity. It was indeed an inspiring moment for aspiring young brothers to commit their life for the service of humanity.
After the Eucharistic celebration there was a short felicitation programme in the Church. Parish Priest, Fr. Dominic Vas gave a short introduction about all the four Brothers then solemnly professed Brothers were congratulated with a bouquet of flowers by their parents. Later Fr. Provincial in his speech thanked their parents as well as benefactors and well wishers. Br. Daniel Christian proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration culminated with the agape meal.
