Mangalore: RACHANA Honours Dr. Meera L Aranha

 Mangalore, 22 April 2012: Dr. Meera L Aranha on being appointed as the  General Manager of Karnataka Bank Ltd. Was honoured by Rachana (Catholic Chamber of Commerce & Industry) at La Oasis Roof Garden Pio Mall, Bejai Mangalore.

 

 Mr. Marcel Montheiro,  President of RACHANA welcomed the guests and audience and was followed by introduction of guest  by Mrs.  Mazarie Textera, who gave detailed journey of success of Dr. Meera Aranha  and  her vast experience in the Banking sector.  Dr. Aranha was later felicitated by president and members of  RACHANA .  She was presented with a shawl, fruits and a memento.

 

Speaking to the audience Dr. Meera Aranha thanked to Rachana organization for honouring her.  She said that Karnataka Bank is 86 year old and she is the first lady to be appointed as General Manager in the male dominated society.  She assured the audience to full fill her duties  with greater responsibility to the society and the Bank.  Continuing she said there are three things we must remember to be successful in life i.e.  hard work, confidence and positive attitude.  She also said that there are good chances for women to come up in life and their career but due to their family commitment their progress is hindered and they remain at the same level for many years.  The women workers are as good as men but they are not recognized as they should be.  She requested the gathering to support women always and lift them up.

She thanked her parents, relatives, well wishers and co-workers for their continued support and prayers. Vote of thanks invoked by Mr. Raymond D’Cunha, Secretary of Rachana.  The dinner was served for all those attended – courtesy: Mr. Lancy Mascarenhas and Family Mangalore.
