Udupi, 16 April 2012: In recent time, many people show interest in the research of the folklore, but if the research is not consistent and not honest then it can damage the folklore art. In such study the part of truth becomes less and unnecessary show off becomes more, said senior folklore researcher Dr. Yerya Laxminarayana Alva. He was speaking on Saturday upon distribution of folklore awards by Kemmalaje Prakashan in the name of senior folklore researcher Bannanje Babu Amin.
Speaking further he said that, for the sake of making a show off folklore art is modified which spoils the originality. In Bhoota Kola, the filmy music is being played, making the Bhoota dancers to dance to that tune, is this right?, he said mentioning award winner Bogra Serigar. In the university among the essays submitted 90 percent of them are from the cast of the writer himself and in that the boosting of his cast can be seen, he said.
Chief guests present on the occasion were; Tulu Sahitya Academy President Umananada Kotyan, Entrepreneur Pramodh Madhwaraj, Moodu Alevoor Temple Trustee Anil Shetty, Kalmady Garodi President Amin Malpe were present. The program was presided over by Kemmalaje Prakashana President Dr. Gananatha Yekkaru. Floklore Scholar Bannanje Babu Amin was on the dias.
Dr. Duggappa Kajekar welcomed the guests and the gathering. Award Committee President Dr. Y. N. Shetty presented introductory note. Balakrishna Kodavoor compeered the program and also proposed vote of thanks. On this occasion Yerya who received Doctorate and Tulu Academy new President Kotyan were felicitated by Kammalaje Prakashana.
