Kunjarugiri, 21 March 2012: The Kunjarugiri Parashurama Temple in Kurkalu Grama is the only Temple of Parashurama in Udupi Taluk. The land from Kanyakumari to Gokarna was created by Parashurama as per Purana. “The religious installation of the renovated temple will be conducted with the grand celebrations from 25th to 29th March 2012 with religious and cultural programs”, said the Renovation committee President Dr. K. Krishnaraja Bhat.
Speaking in the press conference held on Tuesday evening he said that, the construction of the stone compound wall, Namaskara Mantapa, Agrasabha Ambela, Ganapati Gudi, Entrances, Granite floorings, external Tower, Theertha Mantapa are being completed with a cost of about one crore rupees, further the kitchen and dining hall will be constructed, he said.
On Wednesday 28th March reinstallation of Ganapathi God and Kalashabhisheka of Parashurama God, Maha Annasantharpane, night Deeparadhane and Rangapooja Mahotsava will be conducted, he said. From 25th to 28th March every day evening 6.30 pm the religious programs will be held. The Yati’s of the Udupi Mutt, religious and social leaders will participate in the programs, he said.
In the press conference Temple Managing Trustee K. Ramakrishna Bhat, Secretary B. Rajamurthy Bhat, Treasurer Madhwaraja Bhat, Archaka Vinayaprasad Bhat, Prashanth Shetty and Ganesh Kulal were present.
