Doha, 17 April 2010: The 7th International Trade Exhibition for Construction Technology, Building Materials, Equipment and Environmental Technology was held from 12 to 15 April 2010 at Doha Exhibition Center in Doha, Qatar. All manner of construction equipments were on display as part of the Project Qatar 2010 exhibition.
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani opened the four day event featuring more than 500 companies from all over the world, in particular manufacturers from Europe, in the presence of visiting delegates, diplomats and industry representatives. After the opening ceremony, accompanied by officials, the prime minister took a tour of the exhibition.
Qatar has established itself as a modernized, leading player in the fields of international business, tourism, and education. The country has emerged as the focal point for new companies and entrepreneurs. The ongoing construction activities and some of the newly tendered projects have raised their hopes in accelerating business in the country. The exhibition presented many of the foreign and local firms an opportunity to display their expertise in different segments of construction industry.
The exhibition covered in about 40,000 sq m of space this year, which is 10 percent bigger than last year. The attendance of regional and international visitors ranging from private and public institutions and regulators, to businessmen, traders and investors, engineers and environmentalists were also higher than last year.
As have been in the previous years, hundreds of stalls and pavilions have been set at the venue. Exhibition included the display of Construction tools & equipment, Glass & glazing, Heavy machinery, Roofing systems, Wood products, Lighting, Security equipment, Granite & Marble finished products, Natural stone, Stone products, Abrasives & adhesives, Cutting, polishing & handling equipment, Transport, hoisting & packaging materials.
I went to the trade exhibition along with Mr. Lucas Castelino and Mr. Anil Mathias, both of whom are my neighbors in Moodubelle. At the exhibition we happened to meet our dear neighbors Mr. Wilfred Menezes and Mr. Ivan Menezes who were one of the exhibitors representing Omnitec Security System LLC, in the UAE Pavilion had their company stand. They were also accompanied by other three senior members of the company Mr. Gurdip Singh Rayat, Mr. Kevin D’Souza and Mr. Micheal. We were just stunned seeing the latest range of their products demonstrated to us at their stand, which are truly amazing. We were fortunate to spend some time with them.
At the exhibition, Omnitec showcased its extensive range of latest Parking Management & Parking Guidance Systems, security bollards, Gate Barriers, Audio-Video door entry system, High Speed Doors, Sectional Doors, Roller Shutters as well as automation products from leading suppliers across Europe and America. Their latest technology and innovative solutions on the stand attracted the attention of many potential visitors during the show.
