Mumbai, 13 April 2010: A Konkani drama "Fulak Sairik Zalya" written and directed by Joker Cassia was staged at St. Josephs Church ground Mira Road on April 10. The Drama was produced by Henry DPaula with his "Kutam" group and was presented by St. Josephs Konkani Welfare Association Mira Road.
"This drama takes a great step in developing our language and our culture and deepening in our heart and mind. When a child born its drinks the milk of the mother. Along with the milk it gets its mothers language or mother tongue. It is the first word that we speak after our birth. Also when we are in great trouble we express our feelings in this language itself. Even when we are at the death bed our expressions come out in our mother tongue. Thus we should never forget to speak in our language. Along with the language we inherit our culture, our identity. Thus we need to develop our language. We need to teach it to our children. We need to speak our language at home. We need to use our culture and our language during our programmes." said Fr. Dominc Vas, parish priest of Mira Road Church during this occasion.
