Pamboor, 12 December 2011: Prior to the annual parish feast to be celebrated on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, the Confraternity Sunday also known as the Eucharistic Day was observed in the Hol;y Cross Church, Pamboor on Sunday, December 11, 2011.
The Confraternity Sunday Mass commenced at 4:30pm, with Rev Fr. Ronald Pinto as the main celebrant accompanied by the parish priest of Pamboor, Rev Fr. Charles Lewis. Fr Ronald Pinto started his sermon by giving the example of a true incident which took place in Italy in the nineteenth century. He said that there was a priest in Italy who didn’t believe that during the mass the host and the wine which he used to take in his hand was transformed into the flesh and blood of Jesus. One fine day during the mass when he held the host and wine in his hand got transformed into the flesh and blood of Jesus which was witnessed by the people who were present in the church and were surprised because it was a miracle which had happened.
After the mass there was Eucharistic adoration following which a grand Eucharistic procession was organised to the BC Road and back. Following the end of the procession people were entertained with the bursting of fire-crackers.
