Kanajar: Annual Parish Feast celebrated with devotion and fervor

Kanajar, 08 December 2011: The Parish feast of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kanajar was celebrated by the parishioners on Wednesday, 7th December, 2011. Before the mass the Parish Pastoral Parishad members, sponsors and Murdom donors were honored with candles. Mr. Ignatius D’Souza, Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Parishad, in his introduction welcomed one and all. The parish feast was celebrated with the theme: ‘Let’s seek the intercession of Mother Mary to build the parish family’.

 

 

 

The celebratory Mass was offered by Rev. Fr. Alwyn D’Cunha (former parish priest), parish priest of Katipalla at 10.15am. Eight priests from Karkala Varado and guest priests concelebrated the Holy Eucharistic celebration. In his homily, Fr Alwyn stressed the need of empathy in building the parish family and asked the congregation to follow Mother Mary as a role model.

 

After the Mass, Rev. Fr. Dr John Mendonca, parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes church, Kanajar, thanked the parishioners for the success of the parish feast and offered his gratitude to God. He also invoked the blessings of Mother Mary and wished all the parishioners at home and abroad as well as guests a very happy feast. Rev. Fr. Kiran Pinto, parish priest of Ajekar conducted the choir. Sunshine Band of Perampalli added the pomp to the occasion.
