Kallianpur: SVP Members from Moodubelle and Kuntalnagar visit Ozanam Home for the Aged

Kallianpur, 27 November 2011: As in the past, members of the Society of St. Vincent  De Paul (SVP) of Moodubelle along with the members of the newly formed SVP of Kuntalnagar visited the Ozanam Home for the Aged at Kallianpur on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at noon and spent some quality time with 35 inmates of the Home giving them few gifts and sharing meal with them.

 

Sr. Bertina, who is the Superior of Bethany Sisters looking after the aged in the Ozanam, welcomed the members of SVP. Ignatius Monis-President of the Moodubelle Unit of the SVP and Fr. Lancy Saldanha, Assistant Parish priest of Moodubelle explained the significance of the visit of the SVP members to Ozanam. Raphael Aranha, one of the Managing Trustee  of Ozanam Home for the Aged proposed the vote of thanks.

 

 

The office bearers of the SVP of Moodubelle: President Ignatius Monis, Secretary Mrs. Gladys Rebello, Treasurer Benedict Martis and members as well as office bearers of the newly formed SVP of Kuntalnagar: President Mrs. Jacinta V. D’Souza, Secretary Mrs. Jacinta E. D’Souza, Treasurer Camil Sequeira and other members were part of the group that visited  the  Ozanam Home for the Aged.

 

The inmates of the Ozanam Home were quite happy to spend some time and share meal with the members of the SVP. They are looked after by five sisters belonging to Bethany Congregation. Fr. Arun Mendonca, who was previously in Moodubelle is presently the spiritual guide of the inmates of the Ozanam Home for the Aged.
