Shirva, 02 November 2011: November 1, 2011 is a red letter day in the history of the parish of St. Theresa of Child Jesus Church, Mukamar. The long awaited dream of renovated Cemetery was inaugurated by Mrs. Theresa Noronha, Udyavar (Wife of Late Mr. William Noronha ‘Mukamar Shilpi’) at 4.30 pm. The Cemetery was blessed by the Parish Priest, Fr. Victor D’Souza and Mass was offered by Fr. Louis D’Sa, Parish Priest of Mudarangady in the Cemetery itself for the intention of the donors and for the souls who are buried in this Cemetery. After the Mass the main donors were felicitated.
Paver bricks have been laid on the way towards the Cemetery. Main gate is very attractive with Kannada words “ Chira Shanthi Dhama” . The beautiful statue of Resurrected Jesus with extended hands invites those who enter the Cemetery and this statue is donated by Mrs. Theresa Noronha(Udyavar) and Mr.Rocky D’Silva(Mukamar) in the loving memory of Late Mr. William Noronha and Late Salvador and Eliza D’Silva.
Flower garden all over the Cemetery attracts all those who visit this sacred place. The walls of the Cemetery have been painted with multiple colours. The design of this Cemetery is the brainwork of Mr. Rocky D’Silva, who is also the main donor. Mukamar parish, is grateful to all the donors who have contributed generously for this noble work.
