Mumbai, 29 October 2011: The third Wilfy Nite of Diwali season was held yesterday at Kalidas Hall, Mulund West. The programme was organised by the Kanarites Youth Association Andheri. Fr. Hubert Goveas who was the chief guest of the occasion said that "there is a need to preserve and promote Konkani culture. It is a positive move that many of the Konkani lovers are taking positive steps in this regard. Now a days the people have started reviving the culture in the name of fashion".
Industrialist Lawrence D’Souza, Businessman Cyril Aranha, Writer Rymond Lobo, Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza, Peter D’Souza, Politicians Lawrence Ronnie D’Souza, Wilson Fernandes, Albert D’Souza, Jayaprakash shetty were present at the dais. Mrs Jessie Lobo was honoured for selling maximum tickets of the show. Meena Rebimbus and Vishwas Rebimbus were honoured during this occasion.
There was a lucky draw on the ticktes. Vekson Ferao, Alwyn Rasquina, Theresa Barnes won the prizes.
Lydwin D’Souza beautifully compered the stage programme. Henry D’Silva proposed vote of thanks.
The show started at 10.30 am and went upto 2pm. Leslie Rego anchored the whole show. Meena Rebimbus, Veena Rebimbus, Vishwas Rebimbus, Charleen Rebimbus, Babita Pinto, Munita Veigas, Ivan Sequeira, Claude D’Souza, Prem Kumar Lobo, Avitas Adolphus Cutinho, Stanzy Alfred, Chris Misquith, Felita Fonseca, Renita Lobo, Shabaridas (Tabla), Pitambar (Rhythm Pad), Merwyn Pinto (Bass Guitar), Joswin Pinto (lead guitar), Teo Alvares (Trumphet), Pappan (Keyboard) and Christi took part in the event.
