Moodubelle, 28 September 2011: Under the National Rural Health Programme, Community Health Programme was organized in the Primary Health Centre, Pernankila on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11 am. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza, member of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat.
Dr. Krishna Prasad was the chief guest and resource person. Other guests included: Devdas Hebbar, president of Udupi Taluk Panchayat, Mrs. Jacinta Aranha-president of Belle Grama Panchayat, Sundara Poojary-president of Kodibettu Grama panchayat who also presided over the programme, Mrs. Sunita Naik and Upendra Nayak, Udupi Taluk Panchayat members. The programme was also attended by Ganesh Shetty, member of Kodibettu Grama Panchayat, Kudi Vasanta Shetty-Headmaster of Kudi Vishnumurthy Highh School, Peter Raphael Aranha-Headmaster of Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle, Vivekananda Shetty-Headmaster of Edmeru Higher Primary School.
In his address Dr. Krishna Prasad said that such programmes are being organized in order to spread awareness among the villagers regarding the need to preserve and promote health of all especially the children. There are seven serious ailments which affect the children. These aliments can be prevented by regularly administering the necessary vaccines and doses as prescribed by the health officers.
In her message, Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza said that the health of the mother and child is very important. She appreciated the cleanliness in the Pernankila village and said that such hygienic conditions are important in promoting good health for all in the villages.
K. Krishnappa, senior health officer compeered the programme and welcomed the guests. Mrs. Sumathi recited the prayer and P. Ramesh Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
