Udupi/M’Belle, 30 June 2025: With immense pride and joy, St. Lawrence English Medium School, Moodubelle celebrated Parishram 2025 – Celebrating the Journey of Excellence, a day dedicated to recognising academic excellence, inspiring values of perseverance, and honouring the generous contributions that uplift the school community.
The celebration was marked by reverence, recognition, and renewal — a true tribute to the hard work of students, the dedication of teachers, and the support of parents and well-wishers.
Spiritual Blessings and Inaugurations
The day began with a solemn blessing of the school premises by Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza, Parish Priest and Correspondent, followed by a heartfelt prayer service led by Fr. Rickson Monteiro, Assistant Parish Priest, invoking God’s blessings upon the school community.
Significant infrastructural developments were inaugurated as part of the day’s events. Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza and Administrator CA Pritish B. D’Sa jointly inaugurated the newly installed RO water purifier, generously donated by Bellevision, Kuwait, ensuring clean and cool drinking water for all students and staff.
A new printer and photocopier, donated through Invenger Technologies by Mrs. Veeda D’Almeida and Mr.Krishna Pai, were inaugurated by Mrs. Leena D’Almeida and Master Kiethan Almeida Pai. Mrs. D’Almeida was formally felicitated by the school in gratitude for her family’s ongoing support of its academic mission.
Taking a step toward sustainable energy, Mr. Gopalkrishna Samaga B, Deputy General Manager, Karnataka Bank , Head Office, Mangaluru, inaugurated the newly installed solar panel system, donated by Karnataka Bank Ltd, accompanied by his colleagues.
The programme was masterfully compered by Ms. Manuja, ensuring it flowed with grace and precision.
Ceremonial Procession and Cultural Start
Dignitaries were honoured with a ceremonial procession led by the school band, which accompanied them to the Church Hall for the formal ceremony.
The event opened with a prayer song by the students, preceded by a beautiful flow art performance by Master Shalom Yashas and Kumari Reenal Barboza. A joyful welcome dance followed, setting an uplifting tone.
Academic Coordinator Mrs. Sandra Lobo extended a heartfelt welcome to the guests and was recognised by the Administrator for her dedicated service. All dignitaries were presented with saplings, symbolising gratitude and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Honouring Academic Achievements
A detailed result analysis was presented by Mrs. Maria, highlighting the school’s outstanding academic performance. Students who secured distinction in the SSLC examination were honoured with certificates, mementos, and floral tributes by dignitaries Dr. Judith Angelita Noronha, Dr. Ronald Sabi D’Souza, and Mr. Gopalkrishna Samaga B.
A moment of great pride was the recognition of Ms. Vinola Moras, who secured 10th rank at the state level. She was felicitated with a shawl, bouquet, memento, and fruit hamper by Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza. Following her felicitation, Ms. Vinola Moras addressed the gathering with humility and gratitude, emphasizing the role of focused study, reading, and consistent support from her parents and teachers in her success.
As a gesture of encouragement, Mr. Mukunda Kamath, a long-time well-wisher of the school, presented cash awards to all distinction holders. In turn, he was honoured by Mrs. Leena D’Almeida, reflecting the school’s gratitude for his continued support.
Recognising Generosity and Commitment
Mrs. Precilla Lobo, a retired teacher of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium School, was honoured for donating ?50,000 to the newly launched Poor Students Fund, in loving memory of her late husband Mr. Peter Paul Lobo. This initiative is aimed at supporting the education of students from economically weaker backgrounds.
Administrator’s Vision and Message
Administrator CA Pritish B. D’Sa delivered an inspiring address on the essence of Parishram, reminding students that hard work never goes unrewarded. He outlined the school’s vision to grow from its current strength of 418 students to over 1,000, while remaining committed to academic excellence and value-based education.
He also elaborated on the key changes implemented this academic year through the Managing Committee, including infrastructure development, digital upgrades, and faculty empowerment. Importantly, he reaffirmed that St. Lawrence English Medium School continues to offer quality education at the lowest fee in the region, ensuring that education remains accessible to all sections of society.
Guest Addresses and Digital Milestone
Guest of Honour Mr. Gopalkrishna B. Samaga, an alumnus of the school’s Kannada medium section, fondly recalled his student days and appreciated the role of dedicated teachers in shaping future citizens.
Dr. Judith Angelita Noronha delivered a motivating speech centred on the three D’s — Dream, Dedication, and Determination, urging students to follow the path of great visionaries like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

In his address, Dr. Ronald Sabi D’Souza emphasised that hard work, perseverance, and the habit of reading are the keys to true success in life.
In recognition of outstanding academic mentorship, Mrs. Chithralatha was honoured for guiding five students who secured full marks in Kannada in the SSLC exam.
Mrs. Joyce Jenifer D’Sa introduced the guests with heartfelt acknowledgements, and each was honoured as a token of the school’s appreciation.
Presidential Address and Conclusion
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. George Thomas D’Souza offered blessings to the gathering and once again reinforced the message of the three D’s.
