Dubai: Mangalore Konkans Dubai is thrilled to announce ‘Mattov,’ a special meet-and-greet event bringing together all Karnataka-based associations in UAE. This vibrant event is designed to foster unity and collaboration among our communities, working collectively towards the progress of our community and the preservation of our language.

 

‘Mattov’ is a first-of-its-kind event designed to create a strong platform for all associations under the leadership of Stepehen Menezes. Mattov is a Konkani word which means Pandal in English and Chappara in Kannada. This will help establish strong ties between new associations and emerging leaders, while celebrating and showcasing our rich cultural heritage.

 

A key highlight of the event will be the launch of the Mangalore Konkans’ prestigious ‘Sadhan Puraskar.’ This annual award will honor an individual who has made exceptional contributions to Konkani culture and literature, recognizing and celebrating their impact on the community.

The event promises to be a grand affair, including community leaders, sponsors and artists. Guests will be treated to a vibrant lineup of performances, including Gummta, Baila, and Suggi Dance, as well as captivating shows by Vovio, Maando, and a talented brass band. These performances will bring the essence of Mangalorean traditions to life, making it a night to remember for everyone.

 

‘Mattov’ will take place on June 28th, starting from 7 PM. The event is by invite-only and is anticipated to be witnessed by distinguished business icons from Karnataka, as well as prominent figures from major organizations.
