ICYM Moodubelle Shines at Diocese Level ‘Sportify 2025’ Athletics Meet with Multiple Medals

Udupi, 25 May 2025: The ICYM Moodubelle unit made a remarkable mark at Sportify 2025, the Diocese level athletics meet organized by ICYM Udupi Deanery. The event, held at Ajjarkad Stadium, Udupi, on Sunday, saw participation from 52 parishes across the region. Moodubelle stood out for its exceptional performance and enthusiastic participation.

 

Notably, ICYM Moodubelle recorded one of the highest participation numbers among all parishes, reflecting the team’s growing commitment to youth engagement through sports. It’s heartening to see ICYM platforms actively promoting physical fitness, discipline, and community spirit among the youth.

 

 

Arnika Varsha D’Souza led the medal tally, earning the title of Overall Women’s Champion with an exceptional performance:

 

1st place – 100m and 400m

 

2nd place – Long Jump

 

3rd place – Women’s Relay

 

 

Arnika, daughter of Vinod and Asha D’Souza from Podikambla, played a pivotal role in securing the Overall Championship for the Udupi Deanery.

 

Other individual achievements included:

 

Sonia – 2nd place in 200m

 

Elson Noronha – 2nd place in Long Jump and Hurdles, and part of the Men’s Relay team (2nd place, alongside Florence D’Almeida)

 

Shanel Britto – 3rd place in Shot Put and Javelin Throw

 

 

Team achievements (Udupi Deanery):

 

1st place – Throw Ball

 

1st & 2nd place – Badminton

 

2nd place – Volleyball

 

 

The ICYM Moodubelle team’s dedication, discipline, and unity were evident throughout the competition. Their achievements, coupled with their enthusiastic turnout, brought immense pride to both the parish and Udupi Deanery.
