Barkur, April 1, 2025: The much-awaited ‘Chinnara Chilume Summer Camp’, organized by National Higher Primary School, Hanehalli, commenced with a grand inauguration today at 10:30 am in the well decorated Rotary Bhuvan. The four-day camp, running from April 1st to April 4th, aims to provide children with a platform for learning, creativity, and fun-filled experiences.
The inaugural function was graced by esteemed dignitaries, teachers, parents, and enthusiastic students. The event commenced with a prayer song rendered by the school children, setting a serene and inspiring tone for the proceedings.
The Headmaster of the School, Mr Udaykumar Shetty, in his welcome address, emphasized the significance of extracurricular activities in shaping young minds. He expressed gratitude to the various sponsors and well-wishers for their generous support in making the event possible. The camp was officially inaugurated by unfolding banner, led by Correspondent of the School Mr Srinivas Shettigar, symbolizing the enlightenment of knowledge and wisdom. In his Presidential address, highlighted the importance of summer camps in nurturing creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills among children. He applauded the school for taking this initiative to engage students meaningfully during their vacation.
Earlier Mrs Veena Shetty, Sr teacher in Govt School Hungarkatte, outlined the schedule of activities planned for four consecutive days and declared this will be an attempt to bring out hidden talents and keep the children engaged in creative activities…
While wishing all the very best to HM and his team, the Secretary of the Barkur Educational Society Mr Ashok Kumar Shetty gave a call to students to ‘make the best use of the opportunities offered here and learn from experience, physical exercises and games and keep the books, mobiles etc away for the time being..’ he advised.
President of Lions Club Barkur, Prof Srinivas Shetty ensured their support in such healthy activities for the all-round growth of children and Mr Ganesh Shetty the President of the Rotary Club Barkur expressed happiness to be part of these programmes in National Campus.
All the major sponsors and their representatives were - Mr Praveen Shetty, National Primary Old Students Association, Kishoo Enterprises, Daijiworld Udupi, office bearers of Lions Club Barkur, Rotary Club Barkur, Mr Archibald Furtado, Admin Coordinator of the national Group of Educational Institutions, were present to lend their support and encouragement were called to the stage and draped with traditional shawl and fresh roses as a token of appreciation and gratitude’s, as MC of the beautiful inaugural function Mr Ratnakar Shetty presented it seamlessly with apt information and inputs.
All the resources persons selected to educate, guide and train the Camp for all the four days were honoured – Mr Ratnakar Shetty, Retired HM Mandarthi, Mr Ganesh Shetty, Mrs Kamala NJC Crafts teacher, Mr Muralidhar Teacher Bhairampalli School, rangoli expert,, Mrs Veena U Shetty, Mr Seetharama Shastri, drawing teacher and artist, Mr Vishal Mahesh Hanehalli too were presented with mementos by the guests on stage.
