Mumbai: Muddu Mudubelle, who worked as a senior broadcaster at Mangalore All India Radio, is a multi-talented person. He is active in various fields such as literature, music, theatre, journalism, folklore, guest lectures, and editing. He has been awarded the Mogaveera Literary Award by Mumbai’s Mogaveera Monthly this year. The award ceremony was held at Mogaveera Bhavan in Andheri yesterday. Today, he is a lecturer at Mumbai University Kannada.
He arrived at the department and interacted with the students, and also released a work by Dundiraj. He is an unassuming and unassuming gentleman.
He published his first story in 1968 as a high school student. He won 9 prizes in story competitions, including the Masti Katha Puraskar between 1976-96. He has published 8 story collections in Kannada and Tulu, including Odavaru Nanna Kathe (1984), Stepgal (1991), Kannega (2009), Bhavageya Yana (2018) poetry collections, Cheran Rahasya (detective novel, 1971), Paddeyi, Satyad Suree Sayada Pagari (novels), Kantabare Budabare Kulsakstri Veeru (1998/2011) folklore studies, and Tulu theatre research (2004/2018).
Produced 150 plays and plays in Kannada and Tulu for All India Radio. Winners of national and state level awards.
He has done editorial work as the co-editor of the World Tulu Conference volumes (2009), the co-editor of the Mangalore Darshan Project. He is the founder of the Moodubelle Literature and Culture Forum (1994). He has served as the first director of the Brahmashri Narayanaguru Study Centre of Mangalore University. He holds MA degrees in Kannada Literature and Sociology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism Studies in Konkani. He is originally from Belle rural, Udupi district, and a resident of Mangalore. His cultural service is a model for the nation.
