Udupi/M’Belle, 07 March 2025: Eighty National Service Scheme (NSS) Volunteers and two Programme Officers of NITTE Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences who were undergoing seven days long camp training at St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School, Moodubelle since 02 March 2025, along with Lions and Leo Clubs of Moodubelle spent few hours with the specially abled children of Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre at Pamboor and provided them with some food items and conducted entertainment programme on Friday, 07 March 2025 from 6pm to 08 pm.
Prior to the entertainment programme, a brief stage programme was held in the Manasa Auditorium. Henry Menezes-President of Manasa presided over the stage programme. Other dignitaries on the dais included: Sr. Vinney Gonslaves-Principal of Manasa, Ln. Commodore Jerome Castelino-Charter President of Lions Club, Moodubelle, Ln. Ivan Menezes-President of the Lions Club, Moodubelle, Mrs. Keertimala and Mr. Sukesh-NSS Programme Officers and Miss Manisha-NSS Student Leader. Leo Shaina Menezes, Lions Club Treasurer Ln. Rajendra Shetty were present.
Following prayer by the students of Manasa, Ln. Ivan Menezes welcomed the gathering. Sr. Vinney Gonslaves in her introductory remarks briefly narrated the background and growth of the Manasa Institution with the addition of Autism Centre in recent years.
Ln. Commodore Jerome Castelino appreciated the fact that the NSS volunteers from Nittee Nursing College had been in Moodubelle for seven days long camp and came all the way to Manasa to be with the specially abled children. He wished them well in their nursing career.
Mrs. Keertimala thanked the Management of the Manasa Institution for their approval for the NSS volunteers to visit the institution and present the entertainment programme to the specially abled children.
Mr. Henry Menezes appreciated that the NSS volunteers from Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences along with the Lions Club, Moodubelle thought it appropriate to spend some time with the students of Manasa. He said that Lions Clubs in and around Pamboor have been supporting the Manasa Institution.
Miss Manasa proposed the vote of thanks and Ln. Devadas Hebbar, Secretary of Lions Club, Moodubelle compered the stage programme.
The NSS volunteers presented group dances which were well perfumed and appreciated by the specially abled children of Manasa. The Manasa students sang a welcome song and also performed a dance number.
