Mumbai ( RBI ) , Feb. ? 26: As part of the centenary celebrations, the B.S. K.B. Association, Gokul, Sayan, which has been organizing several cultural programs throughout the year, organized a violin recital by eleven-year-old child talent violinist Kumari Ganga Shashidharan from Guruvayur at the Chembur Fine Arts Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 22 .
Ganga, who mesmerized the music lovers with her dexterity and cheerful expression, played the kirtans of famous kirtan writers and Haridas like a skilled artist, such as Vatapi Ganapatim Bhaje, Andero Mahanubhavu, Krishna Nee Bitala Baro, Nagumomu, Shankarabharanam, Mamava Madhava Krishna, Bhagyada Lakshmi Baramma Harivarasaram, on the violin, admiring the playing of the accompanying instruments, and earning tremendous applause from the packed auditorium. Rohit Prasad on the mridangam accompanied her violin playing, and Sreekumar C. on the tavil. H, Manjoor Unnikrishnan as ghatam player, Vaikom Vijayakumar on rhythm pad and Cherthala Sunil Lal as keyboard player collaborated excellently.
B. SKB Association President Dr. Suresh S Rao and office bearers felicitated Kumari Ganga Shasidharan and the accompanying instrumentalists with shawls, bouquets and mementos. Ditya Shivatthaya introduced the artists. Vinodini Rao compered the program. Gov. Secretary A.P.K. Pothi proposed the vote of thanks.
