Mumbai, (Bantwal) (RBI) Feb. 22: The 14th annual Honalu Ayogya Mudur-Padur Jodukare Bayalu Kambala will be held on March 8 at Kudibailu in Navur village. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with many ministers and other dignitaries, will participate, said former minister B. Ramanath Rai, honorary chairman of the Kambala committee.
He was speaking at a press conference after releasing the invitation letter for the Kambala on Saturday afternoon at the Rangoli Hall on B.C. Road.
On the late Albert Paes Kudibail stage will be present at 8.45 am along with the Solur Arya-Eediga Maha Sansthan Peethadhipati Vikhyathananda Swamiji, the priest of St. Anthony’s Church, Fr. Robert D’Souza, and Dr. Padmaprasad, the priest of Aladangady Palace, Timmanarasa, will inaugurate the Ajila Kambala Koota.
Earlier, a grand Kambala was held near the Kavalakatte National Highway for 10 years under the presidency of B. Padmashekar Jain and was stopped due to land issues. Now, under the presidency of Pius L. Rodrigues, a disciplined Kambala has been taking place for the last 4 years in a well-organized and well-equipped venue with various basic amenities at the Kudibailu field in Navur village, he said.
In the press conference, Kambala Samiti Working President Chandra Prakash Shetty, Buda President Baby Kunder, Treasurer Philip Frank, prominent Sudarshan Jain, Chandrasekhara Bhandari, Balakrishna Anchan, K. Padmanabha Rai, P. Ramakrishna Alva, Sudhakar Shenai Khandiga, Sudeep Kumar Shetty, Umesh Kulal Navuru, Sadashiva Bangera, Suresh Kumar Navuru, Shabir Siddhakatte, Abbas Ali, B. Mohan, Mohammed Sharif, Mohammed Nandavara, Rajesh Rodrigues, Laster Rodrigues, Siddique Guddeyangadi, Devappa Kulal Panjikallu, Keshav Poojary Asaldodi, Praveen Rodrigues Venkappa Poojary, Denzil Noronha and others were present.
