Rotaract Club Subhasnagara successfully organizes ROTO- Kridostava 2025

Shankerpura:  03-Feb-2025: Rotaract Club of Subhasnagar (Dist:3182) successfully organized District Level sports event titled: ROTO-Kridostava (District Outdoor Sports 2025) at St. John’s High school ground which was attended by a large number of Rotaract members and sports enthusiastic from Udupi, Chikmagaluru, Hassan and Shivamogga districts. 

 

The inaugural ceremony of the sports event began with cordial welcome by Rtn. Naveen Mestha (President 2024-25), to the eminent guests present on the stage namely, chief guest of the Inaugural Ceremony Rtn. Anil D’Sa (Assistant Governor, Zone 5, RI Dist. 3182, (John Martis (Vice President, Parish Council, St. John Evangelist Church, Shankerpura), Rtn. Malini Shetty (President, Rotary Club, Shankerpura), Rtn. PHF, Shailendra Rao (Past Assistant Governor, Zone 5), Rtn. Rtr: Gladson Kunder (Rotaract Chairman 2024-25).

 

The Kreedajyoti was lit and carried by a sports person Rtr. Yegnesh Hedge and handed over to guest of hounour John Martis who officially inaugurated the sports event by lifting it up.  John Martis in his address to the sports persons told that todays world people are not having enough exercise to their body as they are not much engaged in sports activities or any other type of exercise.  He urged those who attended the sports event to make it a regular habit to invoive in sports activities regularly.  He also highlighted that it is very important to attend any function in time as organizers are putting up loads of efforts in organizing the events such as this but lack of interest by members to attend the function or event in time leads to frustration.  He urged them to adhere to the timing which is very essential in our lives.  Guest of Honour Rtn.  Anil D’Sa too highlited the same issue of making it to the time to attend the function.  He thanked the Rotaract club of Subhasnagara for organizing such a big sports event and whished them best of luck.

 

Rtr. Rayan Mathias conducted the morning inaugural stage function.

Whole day a variety of sports events too place such as track events for men and women including 800mts and 200 mtrs race, Shot Put, Discuss through prior to lunch.

 

Afternoon session involved team games such as Tug-of-war, sack race and volleyball between all the teams from four districts.  It was a fun filled who day kridostava enjoyed thoroughly by one and all.  Sports events were conducted by PT teachers of St. John’s High School Yogesh Shenoy and Sadhashiva Acharya successfully with the help of volleyball coach Hriday Shetty(Chinnu) and Pradeep.  Sports commentary was done by Rtr.  Shanker Kudva and Rtr. Chetan Achary.

 

Valedictory function began evening after the conclusion of all the sports events at around 5:30pm.  Valedictory function was attended by eminent guests and rotary members and officials namely Chief Guest Rtn. MPHF CA Dev Anand, Rtn. PHF. Naveen Amin, Rtn. Malini Shetty, Mr, Mohandas Shetty (Rtrd. HM, St. John’s Shankerpura), Rtn. Rtr. Chetan Kumar, Rtn. Rtr: Gladson Kunder, Rt.Pundalik Marate, Rtr. Rtr: Gladson Kunder, Rtr. Shanker Kudva, Rtr. Yegnesh Hedge and Rtn. Naveen Mestha (President. Rotaract Subhasnagara).

 

All the guests were offered with roses and all of the guests attended spoke on the occasion and appreciated the organizers for their efforts in organizing such a big sports event involving all the members of the Rotaract Club Subhasnagar.  

 

Speaking on the occasion Rtn. CV Dev Anand addressed to the youngsters said that it it very important to involve in sports activities regularly.  Not only today but through out their life they need to maintain their body and for that purpose regular exercise and sports are a must.  He urged them not to limit sports just for a sports day but make it a habit to play regularly as he himself is playing tennis every morning since last 47 years.

 

All the winners were awarded with prizes by all the honorary members on dais.  Rtrn. Gladson Kunder proposed the vote of thanks.  The entire day sports events and stage functions were conducted by MC Rtr. Chidanand Poojary skillfully.
