Celebration of the auspicious day of worship of Sri Purandaradasa at Pejawar Math,Santacruz

Mumbai, Jan. 30: Udupi Sri Pejavara Mutt, located in Prabhat Colony, Santacruz East, Mumbai, hosted a mass Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana on Wednesday to mark the 457th Aradhanathsava of Sri Purandaradasa. Udupi Sri Pejavara Adhokshaja Mutt Chief Pejavarasri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji delivered a message.

 

Pejavarashree Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, with his message, said that cow protection is the main duty of every human being. For it to be completely successful, the grace of God is also necessary. For this purpose, we have resolved that everyone should conduct collective Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana through all the monasteries, temples, and organizations. It is commendable that on the auspicious day of the worship of Sri Purandaradas, a collective Vishnu Sahasranama was organized in the Sri Pejavar Math in Mumbai by about 30 Bhajanamandalis from Mumbai. We wholeheartedly bless all the devotees who participated in this program held in our Math.

 

I was very happy to learn that the Bhajan Boards of the Mumbai Matha are coming together to pray to the Lord through Bhajan and the recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama by the Matha Archaka Vrinda, on the basis of the belief that all cows should be safe and that anarchy should be removed for the sake of cow protection. I pray to God that the world may be safe through the prayers you offer to all the members who participated in this recitation and sacrifice, Sripadam said.

Initially, in the presence of Lord Krishna installed in the stone temple of Pejawar Math, Archaka Ramachandra performed the daily pujas according to the scriptures. Later, in a procession, the portrait of Das was taken to the Shri Vishwesha Tirtha auditorium of Madhva Bhavan (Pejawar Math) and installed in a decorated pavilion. Vidwan Dr. Ramdas Upadhyay Renjala, General Manager of Shri Pejawar Math Mumbai Branch, performed the worship of Shri Purandar Das and blessed him. A special bhajan was held under the leadership of Santacruz, the Madhvesha Bhajana Mandali of Pejawar Math, and about 30 bhajana mandali joined in the bhajana and mass chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama took place.

 

Treasurer of Sri Poornapragya Vidyapeetha Foundation of Sri Pejavara Math Avinash Shastri, Vidwan Kerwashe Hari Bhat Puttige, Niranjan Gogte, Bhargava Acharya, priests Pawan Kumar Annigeri, Praveen Joshi, Ramesh Bhat, Vishnuthirtha Sali, Radhakrishna Bhat, Vasudeva Rao, N.V. Hebbar and the archaka class participated in the puja, religious programs and performed Vishnu Sahasranama. Many devotees were present and a bhajan competition was also held. Mamata Rao and Ahalya Rao assisted as judges and at the end the winning team was felicitated with prizes and plaques. Srinivas Bhat Parel sang the hymns of Purandaradas.
