Udupi/Barkur: On Thursday, 29th August, 2024, at 2.30 pm, National Auditorium had one of its illustrious alumni in Bhaskar A Amin, who born and brought up in Barkur, had his early education in Govt Primary School, and studied 8th to 12th in NJC Barkur, way back in 1974 – 79 and continued his B Com in Milagres College, affiliated to University of Mysore and passed out with First Class in 1982. Completed his M.Com at Karnataka University Dharwad and P.G.Diploma in Human Resources Management at Indira Gandhi Open University.
Then onwards no looking back, 32 years of service in Karnataka State Financial Corporation in various cities in Karnataka and retired as Senior Manager in its Udupi Regional Office. In his career helped and guided hundreds of entrepreneurs, especially youth to start business and engage in self employment – narrated with examples and real life incidents to the attentive audience.
Worked as District Skill Development Officer in Department of Skill Development, Govt. of Karnataka, for three years in Udupi DC Office, endeared himself with enterprising men and women with many start ups and small scale industries – the rich expertise and knowledge he shared with students and teachers.
To begin the seminar, Mrs Vijayalaxmi, Lecturer in Commerce gave a brief of the programme, in line with ‘Gyana Deevige’, a series of workshops; Prof. Archibald Furtado, Coordinator of National Group of Educational Institutions introduced the Resource person Mr Amin, who was his proud and brilliant classmate in High School and College presently running an Office in Udupi as ‘Industrial Project Advisor & Financial Consultant’.
Prof U Kottraswamy the Principal of NJC Barkur, evaluated the deliberations and in his insightful presidential address called upon the students to familiarise with soft skills, in communication, leadership, presentations and tracing talents and inborn qualities… while continuing their formal studies and once they are out from the College, ready to be accepted in industrial and commercial establishments.
While thanking Mr Bhaskar A Amin, an esteemed member of ‘The Barkur Educational Society’, the principal presented him with a memento as a token of appreciation for his valuable time for his Alma Mater NJC.
