Bantwala, 29 July: Under the leadership of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Region (District) Bantwala Zone, D.K. District Minority Welfare Department and the Corporation, an information camp for the privileges available to minorities and an honouring program was held at Modankapu Anugrah Sabha Bhavan.
Inaugurating the program by lighting the lamp, Father Valerian D’Souza said that when the officials and elected representatives do the work of the government with the mind that it is the work of God, all the privileges of the government can be given to the beneficiaries.

MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu, who participated in the program as the chief guest, said that when Yeddyurappa was the Chief Minister, I provided grants for the development of churches in the constituency during my tenure as a legislator. This time too, the government has announced the grant in the budget, so make full use of it. He requested that everyone should benefit by getting information about various schemes of the government.
Speaking in the meeting after receiving the award, Ivan D’Souza said that the people’s representatives should perform their duties by developing the relationship between the common people, being among the people responsibly, creating an environment conducive to the life of the common people and solving their problems. As promised by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah before the election, he has contributed to the development of the Christian community and the development of religious centres. In addition to this, he said that he has thought and negotiated to formulate a law to provide grants to hospitals run by the Christian community. He also promised to protect the schools. He promised to make a plan to use the grant of the Christian community at a subsidized rate for the elders of the community going to Jerusalem. He further said that the Christian community is educated in large numbers, but they should take advantage of the opportunities in our district to contribute through government jobs or large enterprises.
