Udupi/Barkur, 29 Jun: Students of Grade I to VII were the happiest lot as they received new sets of uniforms. A beautiful programme was organised by the HM Mr Udaya Kumar Shetty and his cohesive Staff on Friday, 28th June, 2024, in the well decorated ‘National Auditorium’ at 2.30 pm. This was made possible by the generous sponsors – M/s Sankamma Thayi Resorts and the vibrant ‘Old Students Association NHPS’ and the interest proceeds from various Endowment funds and other deposits, by various far sighted donors and well wishers, earmarked for this yeomen service, over the years.
Once the guests and various dignitaries escorted to the dais, the function was given a prayerful start, by invoking blessings from Almighty Lord through a well sung hymn by Class VII students.
Correspondent of the School, Mr N Shrinivasa Shetiigar, a well known businessman and a philanthropist, accorded a warm and cordial welcome to all gathered and took the occasion to express heartfelt gratitude to all the donors and well-wishers for their magnanimity and contribution, in different ways and means, which is happening since many years in NHPS.
Main donors of the note books M/S Sankamma Thayi Resorts, were represented by Mr B Sundara Shetty on behalf of its Proprietor Mr Vittala Hegde - symbolically distributed them to the students. While thanking the donors Mr Shedikodlu Vittala Shetty, Vice President of The Barkur Educational Society, Barkur, called the students to make the best use of facilities and advised parents to keep an eye on their children.
Mr Ashok Kumar Shetty, the Secretary of BES, expressed happiness as National Higher Primary School is regularly making headlines with their manifold activities under its versatile HM and staff, which will mould these young children to reinvent themselves and excel not only in studies but also imbibe lessons for real life. While remembering the past donors of uniform and today’s contributors for note books he shared some tips with parents being one of the main stake holders along with students and teachers, as parents responsibility not just sending them to school, but their continued follow-up to know the progress of their wards, plays a vital role…..
All the children were very happy and elated to receive new set of uniforms from the guests.
In his beautiful message, retired Principal and Vice President of BEC Mr B Seetarama Shetty had all praises for the hard work of both teachers and students and especially parents for their confidence in Kannada Medium Schools which are at par with any standard School in the vicinity. In his brief address Mr Praveen Shetty, President of the NHPS Old students Association ensured their cooperation whatever best way possible in coming days.
‘National Higher Primary School’ have highest number of admissions in their roll among all primary Schools in Barkur this academic year’, and ‘National Educational Institutions especially National High School as well as SVVN recorded 100% results in a row and PU College too registered 96% results authenticate the hard work of our teachers… ‘Mr B Shantharama Shetty, the President of The Barkur Educational Society…’ said. He was delivering the presidential address. He also appreciated the sustained efforts of HM and his staff, the correspondent and past students who always generous to attend school requirements.
Head Master Mr Udayakumar Shetty proposed vote of thanks and fondly remembered all previous teachers who were responsible to make endowments and fixed deposits for uniforms, Mr B Sundara Shetty, of M/S Sankamma Thayi Resorts for providing quality note books, the President and office bearers of BES, for their best guidance and encouragement, the alumni for their care and concern, the ever helpful Correspondent Mr Shettigar and generous parents and all the stake holders for their continued collaboration and cooperation.
All the children and staff of the three Institutions in the Campus and parents who attended the function were served with snacks and coffee sponsored by M/S Shettigar Industries on this occasion.
Teacher Mrs Shailaja meticulously compeered the proceedings while teacher Suma read out the donors list and paid heartfelt respects for their sacrifices and contribution.
