Udupi/Barkur, 21 June 2024: ‘The Science of Yoga, is the ‘Science of inner management’ as one create a possibility where being blissful, joyful, peaceful, is by one’s own nature, and not because of something that happens around you’ – Mr Madhusudhana, Herooru, Advisor, Giants Group, Brahmmavara, told to the students in his keynote address. While continuing he regretted that the ‘present generation totally forgotten our traditional food habits and manual work and these are the need of the hour to practice yoga, dhyana and pranayama for our wellness and essential to be healthy….’
Mr Ashok Kumar Shetty, the Secretary of ‘The Barkur Educational Society’, inaugurated the Yoga by lighting the traditional lamp and in his message, ‘The United Nations declaration of June, 21st as International Yoga Day, is very significant, unlike any other day, this is recognition of an ancient Science which we used for physiological, psychological and spiritual wellbeing – probably for thousands of years.’ ‘Today we all know the word ‘yoga’, process and practice we don’t know?’ In this context he specially thanked the trainers who gave awareness and the Rotary Barkur, Giants Brahmmavara and others made it a point to encourage Yoga at primary level in National High School and National Primary School……
In his presidential address, Mr Seetharama S. the incumbent President of Rotary Barkur, extended Yoga Day compliments to all the students gathered and ‘this is an opportunity to spread the message that every human being improve their own well being – no need to wait or force someone, a commitment to take full responsibility – well being of self as well as society’ he informed.
Mr Sundara Poojary, President Giants Group, Brahmmavara shared his feelings and congratulated all participants and winners in various Yoga competitions.
Earlier in the day, Mrs Jyothy Shetty, Sr Science teacher in the National High School extended a warm and cordial welcome to all the organisers, Management, sponsors and participants. She reminded that ‘Health is wealth and it’s by way of best practices like Yoga it has to be retained and remain fit….’
Various competitions were held during the week long training sessions and prizes were distributed to the winners. An attractive display of various ‘yoga - asana’s by the trained students were held to familiarise 10 quick positions useful for young students.
HM of National Primary School Mr Udaya Shetty proposed vote of thanks for making not only the Yoga Day a great success but the Yoga Week in NHSC most enriching and unique experience. As a token of gratitude, the ‘Yoga Guru Mr Madhusudhana Pai’, who provides excellent training classes and knowledge over the years and especially last one week, deservedly was honoured with draping of traditional shawl garland and memento on this occasion.
Mr Maruti KP, Kannada teacher in the High School presented the whole stage programme with crispy inputs and personal touch was acclaimed by one and all.
Admn Coordinator of National Institutions Mr P. Archibald Furtado, Giants President, Officers from Hanehalli – Barkur Primary Health Centre, Mrs Yashaswini, various health workers, Office bearers of both Rotary Barkur, Brahmmavar were present with teachers and other invited guests.
