District governor Dr. T. Basavaraj pays official visit to lions club of Shirva

Shirva, 10 March 2010: On 6th March 2010 Dist Governor MJF Ln Dr. T. Basavaraj made an official visit to Lions Club Shirva  Manchakal. He was the Chief guest of honour of the official visit, which was also graced by  Rev.Fr. Richard Coelho Parish Priest, Our Lady of Health church Shirva.

Lions club Shirva  takes pride in extending humanitarian services to the local people. It had conducted two blood donation camps to create awareness on the importance of donating blood. Further it has also dispersed monetary help to an extent of Rs.25000/- as death relief for the poor destitute. In also conducted a number of other social activities.

Around 150-200 people were present on the occasion. The Governor in his address appreciated the services of the club and also explained in detail his slogan of REACH.

The president MJF Ln Lawrence Dsouza welcomed the gathering. The secretary Ln.Mario Mathias presented the report of the activities of the club. The programme was concluded by a vote of thanks by the secretary Ln Mario Mathias.
