Udupi, 31 May 2024: Maintaining personal discipline and learning academic intelligence is the priority today for any academic institutions said the chief guest Dr Thomas Pinto, Dean, Srinivas University College of engineering and technology, Mukka, Mangalore, speaking on the occasion of annual day celebrations of the college. Respecting this land of rich heritage, culture and religious prominence by protecting the environment is important he stressed. He quoted the great epic the Ramayan and it’s ideology of ’live and let live’ to promote life and brotherhood among the masses. Earning and spending money without morals will be evil he stressed quoting Basavanna. He applauded the work of the college in the field of education for the rural masses.
Mr Akshath, the guest of honour , theatre artist and alumnus of 2016 B.Com batch was honoured on behalf of the college. Thanking everyone for the honour Mr Akshath said Milagres is the place he loves next to his home. He thanked teachers for instilling in him the confidence and lessons not only in the classroom, but for living.
Dr Vincent Alva, the Principal presented the college report for the year 2023-23 giving there in the details of achievements of students and teachers.
Very Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, Correspondent of the college, in his presidential address congratulated students under the leadership of Dr Vincent Alva, the Principal for excellence in education and other activities.
Prof. Annamma, Head of the department of Economics was felicitated on her superannuation. Prof. Sophia Dias, the vice principal read the citation. Prof. Annamma thanked all the members of the management, her colleagues and students for making her days meaningful in the college.
Mrs Savitha Kumari, Principal, Milagres P U College, Mr Melwyn Sequeira, managing committee member, Mr Ganesh Mestha, president of PTA, Mr Karthik Nayak and Dr Harinakshi M D, students welfare officers Prof. Hilda Rodrigues, former professor of Economics and large number of members of the alumni and parents were present.
The endowment and proficiency prizes have been awarded to the students.
Dr Jayaram Shettigar, IQAC coordinator welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Mr Shenoy Dias, president, Students Council proposed a vote of thanks.
