Kallianpur, 11 May 2024: As a small initiative towards the noble cause – ‘clean the beach and save the ocean’- Milagrean NSS Units join together to collect debris, solid waste and plastic and dispose them scientifically at Hoode.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. NSS Units of the Milagres College, Kallianpur, took the initiative to clean the Hoode beach.
On Friday, 10 May, 40 NSS students gathered together to demonstrate the importance of a clean beach and to spread awareness of the ill effects of plastic on humans.
NSS Officers Mrs. Anupama Jogi and Mr. Ganesh Nayak organized this cleanliness drive with active participation of college students who enthusiastically involved in picking plastic and other solid waste items like tins, bottles, wrappers, etc., in huge quantities and arranged to dispose them off properly. The villagers, visiting tourists, local residents, and the public at large appreciated the young Milagrean youngsters’ concern for a neat and clean beach and surrounding.
It’s a welcome initiative by Milagres College NSS Students to spread awareness and the beautiful beach waste free.
