Brahmavar, 08 May 2024: The Annual General Meeting of Parent–Teachers Association was conducted on 4th May, 2024. The programme was arranged at the Main Auditorium of the college. Prior to the stage programme the parents were welcomed at the Reception counter and thereby served with refreshments at the College Food-Court. At 10 O’clock the formal programme started. Rev. Fr Lawrence D’Souza who is an alumnus as well as a parent chaired the meeting. The prayer was led by the College Choir group. Ms Chitra Shetty (Dept. of Commerce) welcomed all those gathered.
PTA Secretary Mr Alfred Furtado (Dept. of English) presented a brief report of last year’s activities of the Association which was followed by the financial report presented by Dr Vidyalatha (Treasurer of PTA).
Ms Suprita (Dept. of Computer Applications) gave a brief introduction of the Guest Speaker and former HoD of English, Prof. S. Namita Tolpadi. In her key-note address Prof. Namita spoke about the merits and demerits of IT and AI, she advised the parents to keep an eye on the behaviour of their children. She remembered her early years of teaching career, students’ demeanor, the changing values etc.
The students who excelled in curricular as well as co-curricular activities were duely honoured. Dr. Vidyalatha who completed her PhD was facilitated for her achievement. Mr Robert Crasta, who had served the College for 37 years as an Office Staff was honoured. Principal Dr. Manjunatha Udupa in his speech spoke about the special features of the College and thanked thee College Management in providing all possible aids. Mr. Praveen Shetty (PTA President) spoke on behalf of all parents. Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza in his Presidential Remarks appreciated the goodwill of the parents towards the College. Mr. Alvaris Dsliva, Secretary-College Section (OSCES) and Mr. Harshavardhan Shetty (PTA Vice President) were the other dignitaries at the dais.
The programme was ended with the vote of thanks Dr Vidyalatha. Ms Asha TK and Ms Vanitha Shety (both from Dept. of Commerce) neatly compered the programme with an assistance of Ms. Keerthana (Dept. of Economics)
An interaction between parents and teachers was held at respective class-rooms and the extracts of studeents’ academic performance was showed to the parents.
