Udupi, 16 Feb 2024: On 15th February, the Second day of the NSS camp – Milagres College, Kallianpur, began with a morning walk, followed by a Flag Hoisting Ceremony.
Mrs. Indira, Service representative, ‘Dharmasthala Village Development Scheme’ was the Chief Guest of the occasion and conveyed her best regards to all the enthusiastic camp Participants, and appreciated the relevant and a matter of grave concern, Shibira Vani, "Save the Earth" the theme of the Program.
The ‘team Ganga’ led by Mr Akash, the NSS leader was given the responsibility of the ceremony. After this program, all the volunteers were entrusted with different works. During the Shramadhana primary school surroundings were cleaned.
After the afternoon break for lunch, an educational program was conducted by Smt. Saritha Shetty, President, Government Higher Primary School, Hanumanthanagara on the topic of "Leadership Quality and Life Skills". She instructed the volunteers to come out of their comfort zones to build leadership qualities and elaborated on the concepts by quoting practical examples.
Prof. Clara Menezes, Department of Commerce, nearby residents and old students, i.e. Alumni of Milagres College, Kallianpur, and Milagres College Staff members were present during the program.
All the volunteers were relieved for the various entertainment games after the educational program. The educational Program was conducted by Yamuna team, under the leadership of Ms. Neha.
All the volunteers actively took part in the followed cultural programme and enjoyed the day. As a special guest for the event, Mrs. Radhika Patkar, Department of Commerce was present during the program. The cultural program was conducted by the ‘Kaveri team’ under the guidance of Mr. Pramod. The cooking and Cleaning Dept was handled by ‘team Tunga’, which was handled by Ms. Varshini.
The day ended by evaluating the volunteers on various aspects of the day. As a whole, the day was really refreshing and useful – an extension dimension to the College education system to orient the students, the youth to community service while continuing their studies, with a motive to understand themselves in relation to their community in Hanumath Nagar, Nittoor.
