Kallianpur, 01 Jan 2024: Rev. Dr Praveen Leo Lasrado, Rector of Gladsome Home vocation Centre & former Administrator and Professor at St Joseph’s Inter Diocesan Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore was the main celebrant of the grand High Mass at 5.00 pm. While breaking the word of God, he focussed on two significant points – our faith and belief in God, whether it is unconditional or otherwise? He related different levels of trust in God – with familiar and simple examples – as per one’s needs, say Kindergarten, Super market, Fire station / brigade..!!
In the second section, he throws light on the ‘composition of our parish family’. Here too, Fr Lasrado had witty examples – bore-well, open-well or a flowing fresh water river….being members of a progressing parish family, he narrated the features of a cohesive parish community – mutual understanding, cooperation, participation in social events, helping the needy, encouraging each other’s talents etc. ‘Like a river which originates at mountain hills, combines various streams on its way, allowing others to grow either banks we our parish too to be like river basins’, he concluded.
After the festal Holy Mass, concelebrated with Vicar Rev. Dr Roque DSouza and Assistant Priest Fr Oliver Nazareth, the Holy Sacrament was exposed for public veneration to thank Almighty Lord for all favours received and prayers granted and seek His blessings in abundance and was followed with a public procession on public road around the Church compound as the well decorated main path way was glittering with stars and attractive lightings.
It was a great look to see the majestic beauty of the giant Mount Rosary Church, with lightings and buntings…!!
Again the faithful entered the church to receive solemn Blessings. The Church choir added more divinity with chosen hymns, brass band playing great tunes and the Church laity leaders, youth and pious organisations and SVP members distributing candles during the procession.
In the beginning of the service, Parish Priest Rev. Dr Roque DSouza introduced the main celebrant and to conclude thanked him for leading and bringing us close to Jesus on this very special day as the perfect precursor for the Vespers on 2nd January, Tuesday evening at 7.00 pm and Annual Feast on 3rd January, Wednesday at 10.00 am.
