Sholarship distributed to needy students by Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh

Udupi, 02 Oct 2023: “Students should focus on studies and should compromise on moral values. Parents should not pressurize the children but should encourage", said Rotarian Alwyn Quadros, Asst District Rotary Governor. He was speaking in the Apoorva Hall of Anugraha Pastoral Centre, Kakkunje, inaugurating Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and Late Theresa Cornelio Kemmannu Scholarship distribution programme on 1 October 2023.

 

Guest of honor Mrs. Veronca Cornelio and Ligoury D’Souza encouraged the students to do well in their studies. Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves thanked Late Theresa Cornelio’s family for coming forward to help the needy students. President of catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Santhosh Cornelio presided. Secretary Mrs. Olivia D’Mello proposed vote of thanks.

 

 

Convener of the programme Dr Gerald Pinto welcomed the gathering. Niyojit president Ronald Almeida and Treasurer Gerald Rodrigues were present. 

 

30 students were awarded late Theresa Cornelio Kemmannu and Late James Lobo Mangalore scholarships and 12 students were awarded Catholic Sabha scholarship. Rupees 4.2 lakhs were given as scholarships for the needy and deserving students of the Udupi Diocese.
