Shirva, 28 June 2023: St Mary’s Shirva NCC unit of the college in association with 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Udupi jointly organized the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June 2023.
Dr Herald Ivan Monis, President and Principal of the College, said In today’s world the youth are getting attracted to dangerous drugs and this leads to life sentence. Also he administered the oath, adviced the youth to take a part in creating the awareness of the hazardous of drug in society.
He appreciated the NCC unit of the college for organizing such a good program also conveyed best wishes.
Yoga basically originated in the Indian subcontinent. Yoga has been practiced by yogis since ancient times. The word yoga translates from Sanskrit as union and discipline. Yoga infuses new energy into life. Thus, from common people to celebrities express their interest in yoga Cadet Ashika said that in her introductory speech explaining the main purpose and importance of the program.
Mr Prakasha Rovers scout leader, Lance Corporal Anish Bhat and cadets were present in this programme. Cadet Anup Nayak and Vishal Terence Vaz assisted. Welcomed by Adhitya H Shettigar and Gauthami V Karkera proposed vote of thanks.
