Mangaluru, 01 Dec 2022: Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital, a unit of Nitte (Deemed to be) University, in association with Indian Cancer Society and Sevanjali Pratistan, Farangipet, Bantwal organized a free cancer screening and awareness camp at Hospital premises on November 30.

 

 

More than 50 people availed the benefits of this camp. Different types of cancer screening including Pap smear, mammography were done free of cost in this camp. Video presentations were held to educate the people about cancer.

 

The doctors from the department of oncology, general surgery, and gynecology, oral and maxillofacial surgery held the checkups on the participants.

 

Dr Jayaram Shetty from department of oncology, Dr Rohit Holla from general surgery, Dr Smitha Rao from breast and endocrine surgery, Dr Arvind from oral and maxillofacial surgery and medical superintendent Dr Sumalata R Shetty briefed about early diagnosis of cancer, precautions and treatments for different types of cancers.
