Moodubelle, 05 March 2010: The funeral of late Angeline Alva (73), mother of Bellevision (UAE) President, Valerian Alva who had passed away on Wedensday, 3rd March 2010, was held on Friday, 5th March 2010 at 4pm in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle. The funeral Mass was jointly offered by Fr. Joswey Fernandes and Fr. Paul Sequeira. Fr. Paul Sequeeira in his homily said that, death is the beginning of a new life in heaven and late Angeline Alva had prepared herself for this journey to heaven by following the teachings of Jesus Christ.
At the end of the Mass, Bonficae Barboza (Benny Master), the former Headmaster of the Church Aided Higher Primary School in his eulogy said that late Angline Alva was a good wife and mother who raised five children in strong Christian faith and virtues and all of them have grown up as responsible human beings and are well settled in life. Late Angeline Alva was a member of the Third Francisacn Order in the Church for quite a long time.
Late Angeline Alva was born on 14th June 1938 at Kanarady to late Pascal and Mary Sequeira. She was married to Gregory Alva of Kattingeri on 29th May 1954. In course of time they were blessed with five children-three daughters and two sons. The eldest daughter Diana is married to Marcel and is presently in Moodubelle and have two children. The second daughter, Sr. Matilda has joined the Ursuline Francisan Congregation and is presently in Lucknow. The last daughter, Lavina is married to Alwyn of Devaragudde and they have one child. Among the sons, Louis is married to Lavina and have one child. Valerian who is the present President of Bellevision (UAE) is married to Leena and they have one child. Presently, Louis, Valerian and Lavina are in Dubai with their families. However, as soon as they got the message of the sad demise of their mother all five children came down to attend the funeral and be with their grieving father.
A large number of parishioners attended the funeral service of late Angeline Alva. Following the Mass and the final funeral service, the body of late Angeline Alva was interred in the cemetery at 5.15pm amidst grief and sorrow of her children, family members, relatives and parishioners.
