Mumbai: Canara Konkani Association - IC Church, Borivali (W) celebrates Monti Fest

Mumbai, 19 Sep 2022: It is a great day for the Canara Konkani Association Borivali, as the members got to come together after two years of the Covid Pandemic, to celebrate the Monthi Fest this year at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Borivali (W) on September 11.

 

The auspicious day began with a Holy Mass on Sunday September 11 at 7.00am. It was celebrated by Fr Vincent D’Souza of Chikmangaluru diocese.

 

At 6:30pm in the Pope Paul hall, Fr Victor Noronha blessed the new harvest and the parishioners’ sang ’Sokkod Sangatha Melyaun’ and ’Moriye Hogolsiya’ hymns and offered flowers to Mother Mary.

 

 

This was followed by a cultural programme organized by Charles D’Cunha and hosted by Veronica Noronha which had parishioners of all age groups actively participating in a variety of skits, dances and songs. There were around 400 devotees present for the feast who cherished every moment of the celebration as this event reminded everyone of their good old days in Mangaluru.

 

After the cultural programme, Fr Joseph David, assistant parish priest of IC Colony parish initiated the grace and blessed the scrumptious food (Novem Jevonn) prepared by D’Cunha Caterers.
