Mangaluru, 15 Aug 2022: Amrita Mahotsav of India’s Independence was celebrated at St Lawrence English Medium and Kannada medium School grandly. The chief guest of the program Doctor Satish Kalimar received the guard of honour and hoisted the Tri colour flag. Thereafter students of both the school exhibited a beautiful and colourful March fast manifesting unity in diversity and paid homage to the nation. Dr Kalimar addressing to the students and gathering said this day recalls us the heroic and sacrificial deeds of our freedom fighters. They had a dream and vision for this country. Some of them have been actualised and many more yet to be actualised. Therefore let’s love our country its heritage and culture and serve selflessly.
Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza the correspondent and the president of the program also wished everyone in his presidential address. Students sang the patriotic songs and also entertained the gathering by their dance.
Prizes were distributed to all the winners of the various competitions held on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav.
Rev Fr Lancy Dsouza the assistant parish, Rev Fr Melwin from MISJ Bondel, Mr Reginald Dsouza the vice president Mr Stephen Dsilva the secretary of parish council, Br Stephen, PTA voice Presidents and secretary of parish councils of both the school and secretary of PTA Mrs Parveen, Rev Fr Peter Gonsalves the HM of English Medium school, Mrs Helen HM of Kannada Medium School were present on the stage.
