Moodubelle, 02 March 2010: One of the prominent community leaders of Kalmanje-Dendoor area, Y. Ganesh Shetty passed away on Sunday, 28th February 2010. He was 60 years old. Late Ganesh Shetty was a wellknown personality and was closely associated with religious and social affairs of Kalmanje and Dendoor.
He was a mediator of Dendoor Panjurli daiva. He was on the repair committees of various daivasthanas and temples. He was the chairman of Kalmanje Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple Jirnoddhara Committee; honorary advisor of Kalmanje-Dendoor Gaaneshotsav Samiti; member of Kunjarugiri Sri Durgadevi Temple Jirnoddhara Samiti; member of Manipura Mandala Panchayat and Honorary President of Kuntalnagara Friends Club. Late Ganesh Shetty had taken a lead in reparing Sri Babbarya daivsthana of Kalmanje and Sri Babbuswamy daivsthana of Dendoor.
Late Ganesh Shetty was highly respected and held in high esteem not only by the members of his own community but other people as well in Kalmanje and Dendoor. He was a one man court and would dispense justice to whomsoever came seeking his mediation. After carefully listening to different parties, late Ganesh Shetty would verify the facts and would deliver his verdict that was accepted without any doubt or question by the disputing parties.
Late Ganesh Shetty was the son of Shyama and Devaki Shetty. His father, Shyama Shetty was also a wellknown leader of the community. Late Ganesh Shetty is survived by Lakshani Shetty and two children-son, Shubhit and daughter, Shubhiksha.
