Shirva, 1 July 2011: "Rotary International is not something like a pool of stagnant water. Office bearers might change, but a Rotarian never changes. The thoughts about heaven and earth, human and divine help us to become more and more humane. Peace, service, humility and friendship are the breath of Rotary International. Service by the Rotary is reserved for the betterment of the society.” These are the words spoken by Rotary International ex-Governor Rtn. G.K. Balakrishnan, Mysore while installing the newly elected 41st President Rtn. Pambooru Ronald Sequeira and other office bearers of Shirva Rotary International at the Shirva Saud Parish Hall. He also said that all the Rotary Clubs spread over 206 countries of the world are striving to promote peace and change in the world.
State award winner Bantakallu nursery teacher Ms. Vinaya was felicitated by the chief guest.
District Deputy Governor Rtn. K.R. Patkar, releasing the club magazine “Mallika”, said that as per the call given this year by the International President Rtn. Kalyan Banerji, all the clubs of the district should plan in such a way that the welfare projects cover the whole of the district.
District Sergeant-in-arms Rtn. M.G. Nagendra congratulated the newly installed office bearers and wished them success in their work.Mr. P. Kamath, senior staff of Vijaya Bank, Shirva, was sworn in as the new member of the club by ex-governor Rtn. G.K. Balakrishnan.

Earlier out going president Rtn. Edwin Rodrigues presided over the function and welcomed the guests and dignitaries. Out going Secretary Rtn. Dr Gururaj read out the annual report. Dr K.R. Venkatakrishna led the assembly in prayer. Rtns. Raghupathy Aithal and Mattaru Shantharam Waghle were the moderators.
