Nottingham (UK), 04 July 2011: Yet another Year passed and all the fun loving MUKA families joined together on 2nd of July to have their family day out at Abbey Park Leicestershire. Day began with members travelled in a coach from Nottingham bringing nostalgic memories of childhood days. The long journey to Abbey Park was made shorter as members in the buses entertained themselves with songs, jokes and laughter.
Energetic president of the association, Mr. Deepak Alvares, welcomed the crowd that was gathered. The day was blessed with a short prayer by Fr. Manoj D’ Souza, followed by refreshments to the members and drinks to quench their thirst. Various games were conducted by cultural secretary John Fernandes and Ricky Rasquinha for children up to 18 years according to their age groups, such as lucky winner, lemon and spoon . Every child was applauded by gathered members for their enthusiasm to participate in games.
The sumptuous lunch, vegetable biriyani and chicken kadai prepared by Alvares family were appreciated by all members. After lunch, adults were separated in two groups for afternoon fun and games such as Peas picking game, and filling the bottle with sponge water. Sponge water game generated great competitive and friendly spirits as member’s yelled encouragement to the teams. Members participated wholeheartedly and enjoyed the day. Day long activity come to conclusion with vote of thanks by Mrs Anita Sequeira. Winners were awarded with prizes.
The organizing committee earnestly appreciates the work of MUKA members and volunteers who sacrificed their time and energy and put in great efforts to ensure that the picnic was a superb success.
