M’belle: Members of St. Paul 1st Ward celebrate Ward Feast

Moodubelle, 29 June 2011: St. Lawrence Church Parishioners of St. Paul 1st Ward celebrated their ward feast on Sunday noon 19th June 2011 at the residence of Marcel Mendonca. Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes – Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Lancy Saldanha – Asst. Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira – Principal of St. Lawrence P. U. College, Rev. Fr. Maxim Pinto – Director of the Assisi Nilaya, Nalkubeedi, Alphonse Alva – Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council and Jacinta D’Souza – Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council joined the ward members in the celebration.

 

Benedicta Castelino – Gurkarn of the Ward welcomed the guests and the gathering. The program began with the prayer by Janet Machado. Rev. Fr. Maxim Pinto gave the sermon on the word of God. Meera Lobo – Former Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council conducted games competitions. The winners were handed over fabulous prizes by Rev. Fr. After the prize distribution Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes spoke and said that the games conducted are related to agriculture, which is a good thing and reminds the agricultural activities of old times. These fun filled activities bring the members of the ward together. I feel happy seeing the love and affection among the members, he said.

 

Rev. Fr. Lancy Saldanha briefed the gathering on the life of St. Paul and gave the message to follow his route. Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira offered prayers before the lunch. Santhan Lobo sang few songs and the jokes cracked by her made everyone laugh.

 

It was also ’Father’s Day’ on that day, so all the children who came along with their fathers gave roses to them and expressed their love on this special day.
